The switch signal of the dedicated Hall sensor is transmitted to the single-chip microcomputer on the electric vehicle instrument assembly. The driving speed of the vehicle can be calculated by calculating the number of wheel revolutions per unit time, and the cumulative mileage of the vehicle can be calculated by multiplying the driving speed and driving time. Some brushless motor controllers use a single-chip microcomputer as a decoding chip, which can directly calculate the running speed and cumulative mileage of the motor and transmit it to the electric vehicle meter. There is no single-chip microcomputer in the electric vehicle instrument assembly.

Electric vehicle meters are good at digitally displaying various data (such as vehicle speed, battery voltage, mileage, riding time, ambient temperature, etc.), so that the operator can see accurate values at a glance. However, the disadvantage of this instrument is that it has poor resistance to sunlight and ultraviolet radiation, and has high requirements on the ambient temperature. Therefore, the liquid crystal display instrument cannot be exposed to the sun for a long time, and can only be used at an ambient temperature of -10-40°C. Long-term use in a high or low temperature environment will cause irreversible damage to the LCD, so the display value of the LCD will become blurred until it cannot be displayed.

The electric vehicle instrument circuit is complex and the failure rate is high. Some liquid crystal meter circuits can operate independently without relying on a controller circuit. Some LCD meters rely on the digital signal of the microcontroller in the controller to work. Due to the display driver software and the model of the microcontroller, once the instrument fails, only the instrument assembly can be replaced. In an emergency, the wires of the rotation handle and the brake handle can be directly provided to the controller.

This type of instrument includes: the cumulative mileage is displayed by a 6-digit code meter, the vehicle speed pointer indicates the vehicle speed (km/h), the battery voltage pointer indicates the battery voltage (V), the headlamp indication, the left and right turn signals indication, the cumulative mileage digital meter is 6 "decimal" gear counters, and the vehicle speed pointer is a damping tachometer. They share a speed input signal for conversion, and their respective indication functions are realized through mechanical transmission. The voltage pointer meter is an ordinary 50 V DC voltmeter.

Pointer instrument integration is low, the circuit wiring is relatively simple. The electric vehicle instrument circuit does not depend on the controller circuit and can work independently. The fault of mechanical instrument is mainly the fault of wire or instrument head. When disassembling the instrument, pay special attention to the positive and negative poles of the power supply. The flasher provides the gap voltage of the turning bulb so that the turning bulb can flash. The pin mark B on the flasher housing indicates positive (battery) and 1 indicates negative (lamp). Do not make wrong connections during wiring.
